“I started this in 1998 where we used to work with small handicraft items. Since 2005, I’ve worked with my daughter to mix in furniture for all the travelers to the island. My favorite part about making furniture is to be present for the customer and listen.

How it all started
On our way to a waterfall in Bali, my wife and I stumbled upon a showroom filled with stunning, unique tables and home accessories. The shop owner, Gede, and his daughter greeted us warmly and introduced themselves.
We decided on three unfinished pieces of wood and within the week Gede and his team produced truly unique items exactly to our specified dimensions and style. A couple months later, the tables arrived in Cleveland and we couldn’t have been happier with the result. The rest is history in terms of starting Taru Wood.
OUR IMPACT
Our live edge tables and home decor seamlessly blend natural beauty with modern functionality. The result? A one-of-a-kind masterpiece that brings the outdoors in, adding warmth to any space. We source our wood from responsibly managed forests, ensuring minimal impact on the environment.
As our promise, we donate a portion of our proceeds to Sungai Watch, a local non-profit in Bali. Their mission is to protect and restore Indonesia’s rivers by developing and designing simple technologies to stop the flow of plastic pollution from reaching the ocean.
